One advantage of VAWTs is that they are able to operate with lower wind speeds and in turbulent conditions, as they do not need to constantly align with the wind direction. They can also be quieter and more compact than HAWTs, making them suitable for residential and urban areas. However, VAWTs typically have lower efficiency than HAWTs and may require more maintenance due to their more complex designs.
